Who is the artist or group that sings Toeing the Line. it was in last nights episode of men of a certain age?

the lyrics talk about peace of mind,the snow,rain and the bright sunshine..i believe it was from late 60's or maybe as late as 1970. thanks 4 your help|||The song is actually "Dragging the Line" and was done by Tommy James and the Shondells originally and remade by R.E.M. (and the version is very similar). The song you want is NOT Rocky Burnette's 'Toein The Line' or Toto's 'Hold the Line' which is what the "best answer" suggested 3 years ago when this was asked. It took me a while to find it (was looking for it for my parents who watch the same show) and thought I'd share the wealth! I'm guessing the Tommy James version is the one that was played in the show, as it is more well-known.
